Mac native · On device · Free forever

The money manager
Apple should have built.

Years of spending, categorized on your Mac. Family chat between household members. Multi-device sync without a server we operate. Free forever — Bank Connect is the only paid surface ($1.99/mo, or earn it with credits).

No account. No tracking. 72% verified Monarch parity · Proof of work
SiftDo desktop app, 9,824 transactions categorized, with the Categories panel open over the transaction list and a $2M expense donut

Never used anything like this?

Fair. Let's walk through the questions you're probably already thinking.

Start here
"Why do I need this? I can already see my transactions on my bank's site."
Every transaction. Every account. One place.
Chase. Amex. Capital One. That old checking account you forgot about. Your partner's card. Last year, last month, three years ago — all in one spreadsheet you'll actually want to look at. Find anything. Instantly.
Go deeper
"I've managed without it. I roughly know what I spend."
Roughly isn't the same as knowing.
Every transaction belongs to a category, a merchant, and any tag you invent. "Coffee in 2025." "Everything at Whole Foods." "Kid's school stuff." You spent how much last year? Three clicks to find out.
The magic part
"That sounds like a lot of work to keep up with."
It's a text editor for your spending.
Rename a merchant once — every past and future transaction updates. Tag a pattern once — the app keeps tagging itself. Search and replace, but for your money. Most of the time you're not editing. You're reading.
Finding anything
"What if I don't remember the exact name of something?"
Type a fragment. Misspell it. Find it anyway.
Fuzzy search over every transaction you've ever made. "coffe" finds Starbucks. "amzn" finds Amazon. That weird $40 charge from three Tuesdays ago? Easier to track down than you'd think.
The money part
"I don't want to pay for software."
You don't have to.
Every feature works for free, with light limits — one account, manual tagging. Need more power? Upgrade — or earn it. Refer a friend, leave a review, share feedback. Credits unlock the same paid features, no subscription required.
Hands-off import
"I still don't want to download CSVs every month."
Fine. Let us do it.
Bank Connect is an optional add-on ($1.99/mo — or earn it with credits) that pulls transactions from your bank automatically. We still never see your data.1 Your credentials go directly to the sync provider; transactions land straight in your local app.
1 Bank Connect uses a regulated third-party aggregator (Plaid or similar) to talk to your bank. SiftDo never receives your login, and we don't have a server to store transaction data on — see the privacy section below.
Coming soon
"OK, I'm listening. What's next?"
Your inflation. Not the news's.
Headline inflation is an average basket. It doesn't know you. Rent went up 8% — but maybe you don't rent. Food went up 12% — but maybe you barely cook. Sift computes inflation from your actual basket and shows you the one number that matters: how much more expensive is your life this year?

Everything you need, nothing you don't.

A focused tool for people who care about where their money goes.

Universal Import

CSV, OFX, Mint export, Monarch export, plus 8 native US-bank parsers (Chase, BofA, Citi, Amex, Cap One, Discover, Wells, Apple Card). Folder watch auto-imports. Plaid via Bank Connect. Duplicates skipped.

On-Device ML

6-stage classification pipeline. 757 merchant patterns, 22 categories. TF-IDF + LogReg models bundled, ~52MB total. 99.33% category accuracy on synthetic data. No cloud calls.

Charts & Search

Six-dimension pivot (bar · donut · treemap). Fuzzy search across every transaction. 50,000 transactions @ 60fps target. Year-over-year comparisons.

Family Chat NEW

In-app messaging between household members. Reply, reactions, typing, receipts. Attach a transaction or account row to a message — recipient lands directly on it. Synced via iCloud Drive; we never see it.

Mac-Native UI

Built on a 2,652-line UI platform spec. Single source of truth for color, size, shape, shadow, motion. Smoke-test enforced. The interface Apple themselves would have shipped.

AI Chat COMING

On-device-first AI assistant. Token-metered through your existing free tier — no extra entitlement. Code is in the build, surface unlocks post-launch.

Mac & iPhone

Native Mac (Electron · auto-update · folder watch). iPhone in TestFlight beta — SwiftUI, iOS 17+. Cross-platform shared contracts in TypeScript: same logic, byte-equivalent on every device.

Privacy Gate

Two-layer audit. The app reports what it sends. The OS reports what actually went out. Mismatches show up as violations. 14 enumerated never-collected items. Auditable contract, not a policy promise.

Earn Credits

Refer a friend, leave a review, share feedback — unlock Bank Connect ($1.99/mo) and any subscription tier at no cost. The only feature you ever pay for is the only one you can also earn.

Your data stays on your device. Period.

Your transactions never go to our servers — because we don't have servers.2

No Plaid, no credential sharing

We never ask for your bank login. You export CSVs from your bank's website and import them into Sift. Your credentials stay between you and your bank.

Local-only storage

All data lives on your device. There is no server, no cloud we control. We cannot see your transactions even if we wanted to.

No tracking, no analytics

No Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no fingerprinting. The app does not phone home. Your financial life is not a data product.

Privacy gate & audit

Every outbound network call passes through a built-in privacy gate that enforces what's allowed to leave the device. A full audit log — what's sent, what's received, and by whom — is coming as a public, readable feed inside the app. Transparency by default. Read the privacy details →

2 One tiny exception: when someone arrives via a referral link (?ref=…), the site logs the click and download anonymously so we can credit the referrer with paid features. No cookies, no personal data, no transaction data. The rest of the app has nowhere to phone home to.

Up and running in 3 minutes.

No account creation. No linking. Just import and go.

1

Export from your bank

Log in to your bank's website. Download your transactions as a CSV file. That's it.

2

Import into Sift

Drag and drop the file. Sift auto-detects the bank format and classifies every transaction.

3

See your spending clearly

Charts, categories, and trends. Filter by tag, search by merchant. Your finances, organized.

Four plans. The meter never blocks you.

Every feature works on every plan. Subscriptions raise your monthly Sift Tokens allowance for heavy users and unlock multi-device sync (and Family Sharing on X / Y). Bank Connect is a $1.99/mo add-on — or earn it with Sift Credits.

Bank Connect add-on — $1.99/mo on top of any subscription (Plaid auto-import for 13,000+ banks). Free Solo users can earn it via Sift Credits.
Sift Tokens are a soft monthly meter. They never block any action — they just nudge heavy users toward the right tier. Light users never see the meter.
